Gubei SOHO is located at No. 188 Hongbaoshi Road, near Manao Road, in Changning District. It is the core area of the Gubei International Business District in Shanghai.
The total construction area of Gubei SOHO is approximately 158,648 square meters, including office and commercial spaces. It consists of a 43-story (nominal floors) office tower and a 12-story podium. The design inspiration of Gubei SOHO comes from the "Endless Column" by the famous sculptor Constantin Brâncuși. In terms of landscape design, it makes full use of its feature of being adjacent to the park, enabling people to experience resting and strolling in nature. On the top floor, a sky garden provides dining and outdoor spaces for residents and the general public.
This project is the latest masterpiece of SOHO China in Shanghai. It is a super grade-A office building and has currently obtained the LEED Gold pre-certification. Gubei SOHO is designed by James von Klemperer, a designer from the globally renowned architectural firm KPF. His architectural works have won the American AIA Design Award several times. The design concept of the main building is derived from the landmark building in Romania, the "Endless Column". Each side of the building is composed of four stacked volumes. A series of transfer column grids create a certain wall density, providing sunshade, reducing glass glare, and giving the urban building a sense of solidity.
The orientation of the building of Gubei SOHO corresponds to the urban environment of this plot. The spacious sunken plaza and the ground plaza with an excellent waterscape create a vibrant scene and make it a landmark in Gubei.
Gubei SOHO is adjacent to the Yan'an Elevated Road and the Inner Ring Elevated Road, which are major transportation arteries. It is closely adjacent to Yili Road Station of Metro Line 10 and is connected underground to Metro Line 15.
